9.. What is the legal limit in Florida?
-The lower the VLT (visible Light transmission) percentage, the darker the tint.
*For Sedans (Cars, Coupes)
-Windshield: Non-reflective tint is allowed only above the manufacturer's AS-1 line. If there's no AS-1 line, tint is generally allowed for a maximum of 5 inches down from the top. The tint must be non-reflective.
-Front Side Windows (Driver & Front Passenger): Must allow more than 28% VLT (meaning 28% or more of visible light must pass through).
-Back Side Windows (Behind Front Seats): Must allow more than 15% VLT.
-Rear Window (Back Windshield): Must allow more than 15% VLT.
*For SUVs, Vans, and Trucks (Multi-Purpose Passenger Vehicles):
Windshield: Non-reflective tint is allowed only above the manufacturer's AS-1 line (or 5 inches from the top if no line).
Front Side Windows (Driver & Front Passenger): Must allow more than 28% VLT.
Back Side Windows (Behind Front Seats): Must allow more than 6% VLT. This is significantly darker than for sedans and is often referred to as "limo tint."
Rear Window (Back Windshield): Must allow more than 6% VLT.
